Stretching is a Training Method that is used to attain flexibility. Flexibility is defined as ‘the ability to passively achieve the extended ranges of motion. There are multiple stretching techniques, the most familiar being the static and dynamic stretching.

Mobility is a fitness attribute, also to improve flexibility. Although the other fitness attributes include points like: flexibility, core strength, power, and aerobic fitness. Mobility can be defined as the competence to actively attain extended ranges of motion. Think of mobility as a blend of flexibility and strength. The sum of this procedure makes up your total movement capacity.

An easy way to test the distinction between flexibility through stretching and mobility in your own body is by raising your knee up and toward your chest. Your pelvis mobility is determined by how far your knee goes up without any assistance.

Next, you place your hands on your knee, and firmly pull it closer towards your chest. This stretch displays your overall flexibility in the pelvic area.

If you are experiencing poor mobility, you might find it tough to complete your daily movements. This happens because of a lack of joint mobility that makes active movements difficult to perform without discomfort.

By working on your physical mobility and flexibility through stretching, you can also train your muscles to become flexible enough to catch that ball in the backyard match or grab that plate that’s just out of your reach, or extend your arm properly above your head to get to the top shelf in the kitchen.
